Starting July 2024, DEB srl becomes a Benefit Corporation
The Benefit Corporation is a new legal status introduced in Italy in 2016 to reflect the evolving concept of business in a rapidly changing world.
Italy was the first country in Europe (and the first outside the United States) to adopt this legal model.
A Benefit Corporation is required to create value and generate a common benefit for all stakeholders — a term that refers to all parties with an interest in the company, including customers, suppliers, employees, communities, local areas and the environment.
Our new corporate bylaws state that, in addition to pursuing economic profit, we intend to operate with the long-term goal of generating a positive impact on communities, the local area, and the surrounding environment, within a framework of social responsibility and sustainable development, acting responsibly and transparently.
To this end, we have appointed an Impact Manager and are committed to communicating and reporting the results achieved, the progress made, and our future commitments in terms of social and environmental impact.
Furthermore, our production of buttons and accessories has increasingly focused on the use of natural materials such as horn, corozo, mother of pearl and bone. By choosing buttons made from these materials, our customers help reduce both their own and our environmental impact — supporting an interest in eco-sustainable products often considered waste by other industries.
